Next the bowl is oxidized black and then professionally polished to reveal a sparkling array of 3D floral patterns inside the bowl.

Sleight-of-hand expert Roy Benson (1914-1977) introduced his Benson Bowl routine to the magic fraternity in 1948 and it became an immediate triumph. We are proud to introduce this stylish bowl as a fitting tribute to the genius of Roy Benson. The bowl is stunning and can be displayed in the home when not in use. It may be inspected prior to the performance yet sponges keep appearing underneath the bowl. The technique is not difficult but timing and routining are paramount to create believable magic.

Engraved Silver Benson Bowl
This new Sherwood Benson Bowl is made from solid 925 silver and meticulously hand-engraved with an intricate interlocking pattern. Having the pattern engraved to the outside of the bowl is ideal because most of the routine is performed with the bowl in a mouth-downward position on the mat so that the beautiful engravings may be admired throughout the entire performance.
This newly designed silver bowl has slightly more weight than the embossed silver bowl, which is extra helpful for ease of manipulation and also helps compress the sponge balls. Because the hand engravings are applied to the outside, the internal load space under the bowl is deceptively large. There is nothing quite like pure silver, and both the Sherwood Benson Silver Bowls exude class and sophistication. The final results are intelligently designed deceptive instruments of rare beauty—literally functional art!

The Sherwood bowl is professionally hand-spun from solid copper, satin polished, and preserved with a durable clear coat, reducing friction and does not require polishing. If you prefer natural copper and desire a patina to form on the exterior, the transparent coat layer can be omitted, leaving the exposed copper to form a patina. Antique Copper Benson Bowl
The Sherwood Bronze/Copper Benson Bowl has been hand-spun from solid copper and then hand-tinted to a rich deep bronze finish. The Bronze finish is naturally dried and then hand-rubbed to expose a beautiful feathered copper glow underneath. Finally, the delicate rubbed finish is protected with a durable protective clearcoat for convenience and longevity.
